| TIE TREK TO PEB FORT Brief Introduction to Peb fort- Fort Peb is situated on northeast side of Panvel, on Mumbai-Pune road, at a distance of 3-4 km on west side of Neral. To avoid crowd at hill stations like Matheran, nature lovers must visit the nearby fort Peb. This is the most beautiful one-day trek. One would find Peb similar to Gorakhgad in terms of the time required to climb the fort, ways towards the fort, the cave and the surrounding nature. But there is a dense forest on the way to the fort Peb. Nowadays deforestation has reduced it a lot. The fort is also named as ‘VikatGad’. Date:- 22nd July 2012 Height:- 2100 ft from sea level Duration:- 2 and half hours from Neral station Grade:- Medium Place:- Neral District:- Raigad Fees:- Rs 120/- Fees include travelling expenses (from thane-thane) expertise fees breakfast refreshments. etc Things to be carried:- Lunch (compulsory) Water bottles (at least 2 ltrs) Some ready to eat food, plum cakes, and fruits Medicines (optional) Good trekking shoes (compulsory) Camera, cap, sunglasses (optional) A haversack to carry all these things.
